There is no doubt that there is usually at least a little resentment left between a husband and wife after their divorce. In this case, it looks like there’s probably a lot of resentment since the wife is all too excited for trash day so that she can take out the trash and her ex-husband along with it. It looks like this couple is celebrating their divorce on a particularly ironic day – February 14th, better known as Valentine’s Day, the day of love. Perhaps they celebrated differently by thinking of the new true love that may soon come. Or maybe February 14th just happened to be the day the divorce became official, and neither of them will ever look at Valentine’s Day the same way again.

Perhaps the most famous lines in any wedding ceremony are “I Do.” Everyone eagerly waits for both sides to say these words before kissing and announcing that the marriage is official. The “I Do” moment is exciting for all people involved. However, it looks like this man had enough of the “I do’s,” and he was ready to be done. As can be seen on this poo-inspired cake, he said, “I do, I did, I’m done – Bye, Felicia.” 

Unlike the majority of cakes on this list, this divorce cake serves a slightly different purpose. This person bought this cake to be delivered to their spouse, warning them of an upcoming divorce. It is in the form of a heart, so maybe they were trying to soften the blow, but it is unlikely that the spouse had no idea that this was coming, so maybe it was just a witty way to get things going. 

A wedding ring symbolizes love and an eternal bond to the person you marry. Some people find it difficult to take the ring off even after they get divorced. It can feel almost wrong. Instead of just taking the ring off, this person decided to commemorate the moment by having a cake made in the form of a graveyard for the ring. It was a sort of ring ceremony.

But who would have thought it would reach divorce cakes (who really even knew that divorce cakes were a thing)? Regardless of the origins, this person is excited to be “straight outta marriage” and into the single person’s world.

Some people are such ardent Star Wars fans that they have to include some references even in their divorce celebrations. Even if you think this might be a little overboard, you must admit that it is hard to miss this obvious play on words. Even someone who has never seen Star Wars may be tempted to buy this kind of cake and use it in their divorce celebration. 

Everyone celebrates their freedom differently. Some people are happy just to open a bottle of wine at home alone, while others are ready to head out to the beach to relax and have some moments of peace. This woman is pretty excited about her new freedom and is celebrating in the latter method, as seen by her choice of cake. She is excited to have no one bothering her anymore.

If we saw this cake outside the context of this list, it might be a little confusing at first. There is not a lot of context surrounding the imagery, but once you understand that they are displaying a divorce, things make a lot more sense. Using the imagery of the well-known bathroom signs, this man wants to make it clear that there is no room for a lady around him anymore. 

Who doesn’t love a good old play on words when it comes to a divorce cake? After all, why not lighten the mood a little bit with a funny pun? This person decided to do just that by getting a cat decorated with cheetah-like print and writing out the words “now that I’m done with that cheetah,” implying that the ex-partner was actually a cheater. You can’t help but appreciate the effort.

Although most people who go through divorce focus on the life they lost with who they thought would be their forever life partner, some people are more than eager to celebrate the chance to be single again. This new divorcee was proud to announce that they were going to be on the market again and wanted to proclaim to the world that they were “open for business.” 

There is certainly a lot going on in this cake, from the flaming skull to the hard-to-read words to the carton of milk tipped on the ground. If there is anything that is clear, it is the fact that this person is happier now that they are divorced, and there is no reason for them to “cry over spilled milk,” as the phrase goes. “I used to be married, but I’m better now.” End quote. 

The term “legally single” is a pretty interesting phrase, and very few people probably ever considered it “illegal” to be single. However, sometimes marriage, especially an unhappy one, can make people feel that way.
